Write About Something You Know and Enjoy.

"Write about something you know and enjoy." There is nothing original about this tip, but yet sometimes authors overlook it to produce something that they view as "current" and therefore financially viable. For example, I am a mystery writer; it is what I know, love, and do best. I would not be good at writing about Vampires, Zombies, and teen love. My heart would not be in it, and a real labor to write. Undoubtedly this lack of enthusiasm would be reflected on the pages, and easily singled out by both the readers, and more importantly the critics... who would drive a stake so quickly into my work that it could never rise again!
